Cuba Contra
la Guerra © Jean-Christian Rostagni
This photograph was shot on the road between Trinidad and Santiago
de Cuba. The trip takes about 12 hours, with several stops for
food. I had planned to spend most of the trip sitting in the
center aisle, photographing what one sees traveling by bus in
Cuba. I wanted a landscape that said “tropical/Caribbean”
and some vehicle, presumably one of those old American classics,
that said “Cuba”.
Unexpectedly
this sign appeared, which means: “Cuba, Against Terrorism
and Against the War”. I just had the time to turn the
camera. It was indeed a fine answer, and a fortuitous one, from
Che’s nation to Rex Quinn (see previous photograph). This
photograph is part of my “Drive by Shootings” series.
