Mr. Ogden's photograph "Serenity Overflowing" is the first winner of the
Will Grossman Photography Prize - First Place in the 2013 competition.

"Serenity Overflowing" is a piece from Chris' "Nature Reclaimed" series, which explores the tensions inherent in classically beautiful landscapes existing in the context of man's land development. The series includes reclaimed quarries, brownfields, factories, and the like, photographed with traditional landscape aesthetics.

This particular photo was made in a comforting blanket of soft fog of a beautiful "wet runoff pond" made to protect the environment from a new housing development near Lake Jordan, NC, itself a synthesized reservoir.
Chris Ogden is a full-time photographer, educator, and workshop leader specializing in fine art, landscape, and commercial photography. Based in Durham, North Carolina, USA, his photography takes him around the world, seeking connections to mystery and capturing those special moments, in special light.
